Improvisation Collection, 2024
Chaos, precision, and the beauty of spontaneity.
The Improvisation collection began as a true act of improvisation—an unplanned, free-flowing exploration of shape and form that came together effortlessly, with almost no need to undo or refine. Created digitally through intuitive sketching, this design balances large organic forms with intricate, scribbled lines, playing with scale, overlapping shapes, and vibrant, layered hues. The result is a composition that feels both chaotic and meticulously organized—an energy that draws viewers in and invites them to find their own patterns within the abstract movement.
As my very first cut-out design, Improvisation was a breakthrough moment in my artistic practice. It started as a simple test with construction paper and a Cricut machine, a way to explore translating digital sketches into physical layers. But that small study unlocked something huge. From paper to chipboard and eventually to wood, each iteration refined my technique, deepening my understanding of material, dimension, and precision.
This collection continues to influence everything I create, proving that sometimes the most spontaneous ideas lead to the most transformative discoveries.
