Balancing Act, 2025
Balancing Act is a study in controlled imbalance. The composition begins with a stack of colorful, uneven shapes, forms that shouldn’t logically rest on one another, yet come together through a thin squiggling line that holds everything in place. That line acts as the quiet anchor, guiding the eye and grounding the piece so the whole structure feels intentional rather than chaotic.
The real stabilizer, though, is the white “moon” circle perched in the top corner. It is a recurring shape in my work, something I return to often. There is something about placing a perfect circle where a moon might sit that completes the composition. It adds calm, clarity, and a finishing note of balance against the more irregular forms below.
This piece is all about creating order from unusual shapes, finding structure inside abstraction and letting the tension between imbalance and harmony shape the final design.
